Metallum is also closely involved in materially progressing renewable resource development. The company is actively exploring the potential for geothermal heat in Ireland as a source of renewable, CO2-free power for the All-Island grid. As a major step in this process it has recently agreed to a joint venture proposal with Granite Power Ltd (GPL), an Australian company which owns significant intellectual and technology rights in the development of new geothermal power schemes.
